ChatGPT plugin

Make flashcards without leaving ChatGPT

Connect Fulin Flashcard to ChatGPT once, then ask for a deck the way you would ask anything else. The cards appear in the conversation, with pronunciation and examples already filled in — and one tap saves them here for spaced repetition.

Free. No account needed on our side. Takes about two minutes.

Why bother connecting it

Decks appear where you already asked

You are mid-conversation about a grammar point or a chapter you just pasted in. Ask for flashcards and the deck is built from that context — no copying it into another tab and re-explaining what you meant.

Native pronunciation on every card

Cards carry the reading and a spoken version, so a Chinese or Japanese deck is usable the moment it appears instead of after you go hunting for audio.

Study inside the chat, keep it outside

Flip through the deck right in the conversation. When one is worth keeping, Learn on website saves it here with spaced repetition and gives you a link you can share.

Built for language learners

Front, back, reading, an example sentence and its translation — the fields a vocabulary card actually needs, filled in for every card, across the languages the app supports.

What people use it for

  • Paste a textbook chapter or an article and turn the vocabulary you did not know into a deck.
  • Drill a graded set — HSK 3 restaurant words, JLPT N4 verbs — without writing 40 cards by hand.
  • Convert your own messy lecture notes into clean question-and-answer cards.
  • Take the words you fumbled in a conversation and get a deck for them before you forget.
  • Prep for an exam from a syllabus you paste in, one deck per topic.

Add it to ChatGPT

Four steps, done once. Do it on the ChatGPT web app — the mobile apps do not expose plugin creation yet.

The one thing to get exactly right

Copy this now — step 3 asks for it. Nothing else in the form has to match exactly.

Adding a custom plugin lives behind ChatGPT's developer mode, which OpenAI documents as a paid-plan feature (Plus, Pro, Business). ChatGPT will warn you that it has not reviewed this server — that warning appears for every self-added plugin, including ours. Our server only receives the deck request you make; it has no access to your other chats.

  1. 1

    Turn on developer mode

Open Settings from your profile menu, go to the Security and login tab, and scroll to Developer mode. Switch it on.

It sits below the account-security settings and is flagged ELEVATED RISK — that label is about custom plugins in general, not about this one.

  2. 2

Open the plugin directory and create an app

Click Plugins in the left sidebar. At the top right of the directory, the Create app button appears once developer mode is on.

Don't see it? Reload the page — the directory caches the old state for a moment after you flip the toggle.

Paste the URL and pick No Auth

    In the New Plugin dialog:

    • Name— anything you like. “Flashcards” works.
    • MCP Server URL — paste the URL you copied above.
    • Authentication — choose No Auth. There is no account to sign into.

Tick I understand and want to continue, then hit Create. The icon and description are optional — skip them.

    Ask for a deck

Start a new chat and just ask. ChatGPT reaches for the plugin on its own when you say you want to learn, study, or memorize something — you do not have to name it.

Teach me 12 HSK 3 restaurant words with flashcards.
Make a deck from the vocabulary in the article I just pasted.
I keep mixing up German separable verbs — build me a 15-card deck.

The deck opens inside the conversation. Flip through it there, or press Learn on website to save it here with spaced repetition and get a shareable link.

If it answers in plain text instead, type @ in the composer and pick your plugin to force it.

That's the whole setup

From here on, every deck you save lands in the same place — reviewable in the browser, offline, with the intervals shown to you rather than hidden.
